Part-time Organist/Choir Director
Christ the King Lutheran Church (CTK) (ELCA) believes in a God who meets us where we are, who is present in our lives, bringing the Good News of a new creation in which we are all invited to participate. We respond to the grace that we receive through baptism in our weekly worship with Holy Communion, and in our music, youth, faith formation and fellowship programs. We live the command to love others in our local community service, our involvement with regional and national Lutheran ministries, and our intentional mission activities.
CTK is seeking a committed Christian and experienced musician who will encourage others in their faith through musical leadership and by example.
Title: Part-time Organist/Choir Director
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in playing the organ and piano sufficient to play hymns, liturgy, anthem accompaniments, preludes and postludes
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn Lutheran liturgy and music
- Experience and competency directing a volunteer adult choir. Experience directing a Handbell Choir preferred but not required
- Ability to sing and play with accurate pitch and rhythm
- Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with pastors, musicians, staff members and congregational leaders
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Church Music or other related degree is preferred

This is a full-time salary position requiring 40 hours a week. The level of work varies by season, with retreats and summer camp necessitates working on site. The Legacy at North Augusta is forming a volunteer choir and is looking for someone in the community to help lead it!
This isn’t a traditional church choir, but rather a group of residents who miss singing together and want to share the joy of music. The choir would meet a couple of times a month and occasionally perform during community events such as town halls or special gatherings.
If you know someone in your congregation or network who might be interested in volunteering their time and talent to bring joy through music, please encourage them to reach out to our Community Living Director, Kelly Dameron, at KDameron@

Ordination in the PCUSA is preferred, but not required for this position, which will average 20-25 hours each week.
