Because most rostered leaders will be at Synod Assembly during on June 12, we have provided a few options of what to do in place of your regular sermon that Sunday in your congregations:
1. Play Bishop Mauney’s Video Sermon
If you have a screen and a projector in your church, you can play Bishop Mauney video sermon on Sunday morning. If you are confident in your wifi, you can play it straight from vimeo.com.
You can also download the video and save it to your computer so you don’t have to rely on the internet. Click the download button under the vimeo video and choose “original” for the highest quality. If you go to your “Downloads” folder of your computer the video should appear and then save the video to your preferred location. To introduce the video you can also read a short bio about Bishop Mauney.
2. Read Bishop Mauney’s Sermon
The text from Bishop Mauney’s sermon is also available if you would like to ask a volunteer to read his sermon. Click here for a short bio of Bishop Mauney if you would like to introduce him as the author of the sermon before the reading.
3. Livestream Synod Assembly
The entire weekend of Synod Assembly will be livestreamed on the Virginia Synod You Tube Channel. We will be having our own worship service at Synod Assembly (Check the Guidebook App for the most up to date event schedule) and you can follow along. Click here for the Sunday Morning Worship Livestream. This option is only for congregations who feel have a good internet connection as well as a video projector.
